Founded in 1985 as a daughter company of CAMAG Switzerland, CAMAG Scientific, Inc. has become the leader in modern Thin-Layer Chromatography in North America. CSI plays a dominant role in the US market as a specialist in this technique. We distribute and service Swiss-made, state of the art TLC instrumentation, offer courses in Thin-Layer Chromatography with an emphasis on Method Development, and provide custom-made solutions to customer problems.

In 1996 CSI Analytical Lab Services was created and since that time, has operated as a contract laboratory, providing specialized TLC services in a cGMP/cGLP environment. The core business of the company has historically been the PHARMA industry, but beginning in 1997 there has been substantial focus on the analysis, particularly the identification of botanicals. Evidence of that focus can be seen in the American Herbal Pharmacopoeia monograph program, in the availability of TLC methods for a variety of botanicals, in the quality and availability of Botanical Analysis Courses, and in the close association with AOAC, USP, NIH, and now UNPA.

In combination with the Applications Laboratory in Switzerland, headed by Dr. Eike Reich who has been the catalyst for this vibrant focus on botanicals, we are striving to equip our company and our people with the necessary expertise and training to provide some real solutions to the botanical industry as it faces the inevitable day when the regulations come down, mandating an environment of current Good Manufacturing Practice. SOP's, instrument validations, instrument training, validated method, verifications, and cGMP training will all be required. We are certain that we can be a valuable partner in this new challenge. We do not think we have all the answers nor the only solution, however, we are confident that we have a good solution and we think we are up to the task.
