Keynote presentation description: Given all the negative media regarding dietary supplements, perhaps it’s time to take a critical look at what the science actually says about the current state of nutritional health in the United States. Broad pronouncements that Americans get all the nutrients they need in their diet or that supplements are “ineffective" are not consistent with the evidence. What’s more, these messages may actually be dangerous for vulnerable and at-risk groups. In this session, Dr. Low Dog will provide a physician’s perspective on the strong case for the responsible use of dietary supplements in the prevention and management of numerous common diseases.
